Municipality of Nijmegen
Where is the building file of your house in Nijmegen?
Which archive holds the file depends on the year the permit was granted. Below is where to be for each period, with the date on which I checked it.
This covers Lent and Oosterhout-Nijmegen as well.

The counters in Nijmegen
Nijmegen has digitised almost everything. The Digitaal Gebouwenarchief Nijmegen can be searched by address, and drawings from the archive arrive free of charge as a download link by email.
Up to 31 December 2023
Regionaal Archief Nijmegen
Up to the end of 2023 the Regionaal Archief Nijmegen holds the files. In practice this goes through the Digitaal Gebouwenarchief: search by address, tick the documents you want, and the download link comes by email, free of charge. For what is not digitised the archive can be reached at hetarchief@nijmegen.nl or (024) 329 23 07.
As I noted it in Dutch, with the links and the exact terms you will need on their website:
In de praktijk gaat dit via het Digitaal Gebouwenarchief hierboven: daar zoekt u op adres, vinkt u de gewenste stukken aan en komt de downloadlink gratis per mail. Lukt dat niet, dan per mail: hetarchief@nijmegen.nl, (024) 329 23 07, https://regionaalarchiefnijmegen.nl.
I can look this file up and download it for you.
From 1 January 2024
gemeente Nijmegen
From 1 January 2024 the municipality of Nijmegen itself handles it, by phone on 14 024 or through its contact form.
As I noted it in Dutch, with the links and the exact terms you will need on their website:
zelf, tel. 14 024, contactformulier https://formulier.nijmegen.nl/contactformulier/startpagina/. Zie https://www.nijmegen.nl/diensten/bouwen/opvragen-bouw-of-sloopplan/.
I can request this file for you.
Worth knowing
Almost everything is digitised and searchable by address in the Digitaal Gebouwenarchief Nijmegen; the address has to be entered exactly. Permits for demolished buildings and from the nineteenth century are in collection 1335, the building permits of the municipality of Nijmegen from 1816 to 2005.
As I noted it in Dutch, with the links and the exact terms you will need on their website:
Vrijwel alles is gedigitaliseerd en op adres doorzoekbaar via het Digitaal Gebouwenarchief Nijmegen: https://studiezaal.nijmegen.nl/digitaalgebouwenarchiefnijmegen.php (adres exact invoeren). Bouwvergunningen van gesloopte panden + 19e-eeuws: collectie 1335 "Bouwvergunningen gemeente Nijmegen 1816-2005", via https://studiezaal.nijmegen.nl/bouwvergunningen.
I checked these details on 19 July 2026. Counters and period boundaries change; if something no longer holds, please tell me.

Rather not do this yourself
I put together the file for your address
For € 145 including VAT I collect the building file and everything else known about your address that can matter structurally: the cone penetration tests nearby, the soil profile, the foundation picture of the neighbourhood, the plot details and the aerial photographs year by year. With it you get a reader's guide in English that says what is there and what is missing. For € 295 I also map the load-bearing structure of the house: the walls that carry load on each floor, the roof, the foundation and what keeps it stable. Only after what the public records say, without the archive? Then there is the address report for € 95.
Have me do the structural calculation afterwards and this amount comes off it. If the archive holds nothing, you get your money back.
