Municipality of Wageningen

Where is the building file of your house in Wageningen?

Which archive holds the file depends on the year the permit was granted. Below is where to be for each period, with the date on which I checked it.

This covers Wageningen as well.

Period by period

The counters in Wageningen

One of the more pleasant archives in the region: free, digital, and the files regularly include calculations and cone penetration tests.

1902 to 2005

gemeentearchief Wageningen

From 1902 to 2005 the gemeentearchief Wageningen holds the files. The municipal website has a digital overview of building files; after a request through the contact form with street name and house number, the drawings come as a pdf by email. The originals are kept in the town hall and can be viewed free of charge by appointment, on Tuesday and Wednesday from 10.00 to 16.00.

As I noted it in Dutch, with the links and the exact terms you will need on their website:

Kijk eerst in het digitale overzicht van bouwdossiers op de gemeentesite; vul daarna het contactformulier in met straatnaam en huisnummer, en u krijgt de tekeningen als pdf per mail. De originelen liggen in het stadhuis en zijn gratis in te zien na afspraak, dinsdag en woensdag 10.00-16.00. gemeentearchief@wageningen.nl, (0317) 49 29 11.

I can request this file for you.

From 2006

From 2006 structural drawings exist, but through an appointment with the archive.

I can request this file for you.

Demolished buildings 1902-1980

For demolished buildings from 1902 to 1980 there is a paper series of the building inspectorate, which has not been digitised.

This archive only lets you view the documents on the premises, so there is nothing to request remotely.

Worth knowing

The files contain the application, the building drawings and sometimes calculations or cone penetration tests. Drainage and electrics are usually not included.

As I noted it in Dutch, with the links and the exact terms you will need on their website:

In de dossiers zitten de aanvraag, de bouwtekeningen en soms berekeningen of sonderingen. Riolering en elektra staan er meestal niet in.

I checked these details on 6 September 2026. Counters and period boundaries change; if something no longer holds, please tell me.

Rather not do this yourself

I put together the file for your address

For € 145 including VAT I collect the building file and everything else known about your address that can matter structurally: the cone penetration tests nearby, the soil profile, the foundation picture of the neighbourhood, the plot details and the aerial photographs year by year. With it you get a reader's guide in English that says what is there and what is missing. For € 295 I also map the load-bearing structure of the house: the walls that carry load on each floor, the roof, the foundation and what keeps it stable. Only after what the public records say, without the archive? Then there is the address report for € 95.

Have me do the structural calculation afterwards and this amount comes off it. If the archive holds nothing, you get your money back.
